Who we are
BAD Stories (badstories.ai) is an independent fiction brand operated by Adrian Berariu. This site is the digital home of the Life Line Series of novels. You can contact us at hello@badstories.ai.
What data we collect and why
Email address
If you sign up to our reader list, unlock the first chapter, or use the palm reading feature, we collect your email address. We use it to send you updates about new releases and exclusive content. We never sell or share your email with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
Palm image (palm reading feature)
When you use the palm reading feature, the photo you upload is sent to Anthropic's API (claude-haiku-4-5) for analysis and immediately discarded — we do not store your palm image on our servers. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing: anthropic.com/privacy.
IP address (anonymised)
We process a one-way hash of your IP address for security purposes only — specifically to prevent abuse of the palm reading and voting features. The hash cannot be reversed to identify you. We do not log or store raw IP addresses.
Local storage
We store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage to remember whether you have unlocked the first chapter and which ending you voted for. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
How we store your data
Email addresses and anonymised IP hashes are stored in a Supabase database hosted in the EU (West Ireland region). We retain your email address until you ask us to delete it. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@badstories.ai and we will action it within 30 days.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We use browser local storage (not cookies) for the chapter gate and voting features described above. No advertising cookies are present on this site.
Your rights
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to object to processing and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@badstories.ai.

This site uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- Supabase — database storage (supabase.com/privacy)
- Anthropic — AI palm reading analysis (anthropic.com/privacy)
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page will reflect when it was last changed. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
